McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native Tommye Sue Nunley, age 80, was born January 7, 1941 and died May 30, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of Christian Fellowship Church, she was the daughter of the late Helen Louise Patrick. She was married to Avery Willis Nunley who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by step-father, Clifton Patrick; brother, Jimmy Mullican and special aunt and uncle, Houston and Minnie Killian. Mrs. Nunley is survived by two sons, James Avery Nunley and Thomas Lynn Nunley; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Helen "Tootie" and Rodney King all of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Justin (Heather) Nunley, Ashley (Joshua) Basham, Zachariah (Vera) Nunley, Ryan (Macie) King and Ethan King; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Eric (Stella) Patrick and Billy Mack Patrick both of McMinnville and Elton Patrick of Spencer, TN; three sisters, Floressa (Ricky) Wanamaker, Nelda (Bill) Wanamaker and Vicky (Terry) Powell all of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Brenda Mullican of McMinnville; special friend and aunt, Frances Campbell of McMinnville; special cousin and sister, Faye (Clark) Jennings of McMinnville and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in High's Chapel with Scotty Lawson and Pokie George officaiting. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County, TN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High's.
