McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native, Vina Evelyn “Butch” Rowland, age 81, was born July 16, 1940 and died July 13, 2022 at Ascension St. Thomas Dekalb Hospital in Smithville, TN following a brief illness. A retired factory worker from Oster and a member of Rock Island Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie Farless Hillis. She was married to Thomas Henry Rowland on August 15, 1954 who preceded her in death on November 29, 2013. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Kathy Faye Duncan and Ricky Stephen Rowland; three sisters, Betty Williams, Elsie Safely and Mary Jane Woodlee and four infant brothers. Mrs. Rowland is survived by two sons, Tommy and Theresa Rowland of McMinnville, TN and Clark and Vicki Rowland of Rock Island, TN; two grandchildren, Stacia (Justin) Barnes of McMinnville, TN and Cody (Whitney) Rowland of Morrison, TN; eight great-grandchildren, Peyton Rowland, Gabe, Isaac, Isaiah, Michael and C.J. Rowland and Cassiopeia and Jackson Barnes; sister, Bonnie (Allen) Hitchcock of McMinnville, TN and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Ray Weddington officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home.
