Wanda Joyce Thomison Rowland

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Wanda Joyce Thomison Rowland, age 88, was born August 16, 1936 in the Rocky River Community and died December 7, 2024 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN.

A retired housekeeper with NHC Healthcare McMinnville and a member of Earleyville Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late James Marion and Della Jane Hillis Thomison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert Eugene Rowland; grandson, Chad A. Rowland; brothers, James, Glen and Ray Thomison; brother-in-law, Ray Hale and son-in-law, Paul Noble.

She is survived by daughters, Elaine (Barry) Jones of Rock Island, TN and Lisa Rowland Noble of McMinnville; granddaughter, Kellie Rowland of McMinnville; great-granddaughter, Catherine Marie Rowland of McMinnville; sisters, Linda Thomison Hale of Rock Island, TN and Betty (Jimmy) DeArmond of McMinnville and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nephews. 

She was known as “Joycee” to her nieces and nephews and “Goggie” by her great-granddaughter, Catherine.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Dan Jones officiating. Burial will follow in White Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Hugh’s.
