McMinnville, TN resident and the Tarlton Community of Grundy County, TN native, Will H. Cathcart, age 100, was born October 8, 1921 and died February 3, 2022 at his residence. WWII veteran of the United States Navy, retired machinist from Towmotor Corp. in Cleveland, Ohio, nurseryman and farmer in the Irving College Community, and member of St. Mary’s Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Levi Henry Cathcart and late Ella Mae Myers Cathcart Bonner. He was married to Melba Christine Clendenon Cathcart on May 17, 1947 who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Dennis Cathcart; sister, Mary Francis Cathcart and brothers, James Thomas Cathcart, Oscar Bonner, Jr., and William Thomas "W.T." Bonner. Mr. Cathcart is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Don Robbins of McMinnville, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, William Melban and Paula Cathcart and Tom and Carole Cathcart, both of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren and spouses, James and Heather Robbins of Fairview, TN, Julia and Chris Rhoady of McMinnville, TN, William Luther "Bill" Cathcart of Knoxville, TN, Paul Livy "Peanut" and Susan Cathcart and Robert Levi "Sprout" and Michelle Cathcart, both of McMinnville, TN, Curt and Lisa Cathcart of Gallatin, TN, Brian and Ashleigh Cathcart of Murfreesboro, TN, Ian and Krystal Cathcart of McKinney, TX, and Alex and Misha Cathcart of Erwin, NC; sixteen great-grandchildren, William Samuel and Emma Cathcart, Callie, Kenley, and Lilly Cathcart, Chloe Cathcart, Levi and Luke Cathcart, Jonah and Ben Robbins, Cara and Caleb Rhoady, Addison Walker and Ava Cathcart, and Aliyana and Alexander Cathcart; brother, James Aubry Bonner and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Greg Rains officiating. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s. Full military honors will be administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
