Willa Dean Savage, age 90, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born June 8, 1930 and passed September 29, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness. She was a retired secretary with Savage Farm Nursery, a member of Shellsford Baptist Church, a Sunday school secretary with Shellsford Baptist Church for sixty years, and the daughter of the late Isaac Lee and Lillie Belle McGee Cartwright. She was a loving mother, wife, and homemaker. Mrs. Savage was married to James Edward Savage who preceded her in death on August 17, 1994. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John & Sara Kesey Cartwright; maternal grandparents, Samuel Franklin and Willie Louella Martin McGee; parents, Isaac Lee and Lillie Belle McGee Cartwright; brother, John L. Cartwright; sister and brother-in-law, Ottolyn and James Vernon Barnes; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, I.L. and Myrtle Brown Savage and nephew, Bill D. Brown. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Malinda Lee Savage and Willard Clayton Brown of McMinnville, TN; two grandchildren, Tammy Consuelo Brown and Jason Cherney of Brentwood, TN and William E. and Cytha Brown of McMinnville, TN; four great-grandchildren, Caden and Tristan Cherney, Spencer McCormack, and Savannah Brown; sister-in-law, Lois Cartwright; nieces and nephews, Jim and Wanda Barnes, Ann and Wade Melton, Lillie Jo “Jackie” and Pat Brown, Sherri Cartwright, Jeff and Kim Cartwright and Tommy and Carla Savage. Several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews also survive. The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice, and her caregivers, Marli, Lisa, and Nacey. A graveside service and interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020 at Smyrna Cemetery with Ronnie Powell and Gene McClure officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at High’s. Family and friends are to meet at cemetery Friday. No visitation will be held Friday at High’s.
