William (Bill) Sidney Lee, known affectionately as Mr. Bill, died on Saturday May 11, 2024, at age 88. He was born on November 6th, 1935, in Campaign, Tennessee, to Sherman and Bernice Bilbrey Lee. Bill married Eva Marie Grant Lee on October 27, 1962. Miss Eva preceded him in death on April 19, 2020.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by infant daughter Angela Marie, brother, Robert Lee; sisters, Mattie Taylor and Judy Lee Cunningham, niece, Cheryl Taylor; and special aunt, Mutt McBride. He is survived by children Jeff and Sara Lee of McMinnville and Suzanne Lee White (Larry) of Issaquah, WA; grandchildren Jacob and Ashlyn Lee, David Lee, Grant White and Shane White; nieces and nephews Benny Grant, Carol Hamblen, Ron and Becky Lee, Randy and Sherri Taylor; many grandnieces and nephews; special friends Buddy Dunlap, Carol and Byron Chambers; and special caretaker Jo Boyd.
Bill was proud to be a Master Mason and 32nd degree Scottish Rite member. While in the Army he served in Korea with secret security clearance, sharpshooter marksmanship awards and played baseball for the Army team. Bill's legacy includes the founding of Korner Market with 10₵ bananas, WS Lee Trucking, and introduced McMinnville to scanner registers at JEBS. He loved talking about trucking across all 48 continental states and selling produce.
His commitment to the community was evident as a primary donor to build the first track at Warren County High School and his pride in displaying the large US flag. Bill's 24 years of service at the Election Commission spoke volumes about his dedication to civic duty and responsibility of voting.
Rest in peace, Mr. Bill. Your love of life, God, and family and friends will long be remembered.
Visitation to celebrate the life of Bill and Eva Lee will be held Thursday evening May 16th from at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Funeral service at 7:30 p.m. All are invited. Private graveside inurnment planned for May 18th at Friendship Cemetery in Campaign.
