Morrison, TN resident and Vervilla Community native William Edward "Bill" Turner, age 87, was born June 13, 1932 and died November 14, 2019 at his residence following a sudden illness. A retired educator with Tullahoma High School, a United States Navy veteran of Korea, and a member of Central Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Oscar Earl and Willie Everett Hurtt Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Michael Edward Hutton; two sisters, Elizabeth Braxton and Clata Groves; and two brothers, Eugene and Jim Turner. He was married on June 11, 1955 to Josephine Turner of Morrison, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and David Hutton of the Vervilla Community and Joann and Frank McCain of Franklin, TN; three grandchildren, Jonathan Hutton and wife Claire of Murfreesboro, TN, Amy Hutton of Murfreesboro, TN and Allie McCain of Franklin, TN; sister, Dorothy Pierce of Doniphan, MO; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ike and Bea Turner of Morrison, TN, Frank and Cindy Turner of Morrison, TN and Marion and Connie Jo Turner of the Vervilla Community; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019 in High's Chapel with Ben Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Bascom Cemetery with military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at High's.
