William Burch Tate

McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native William Burch Tate, age 92, was born April 17, 1933 and died April 26, 2025 at his residence.

A United States Air Force veteran, former nurseryman and member of The Way of the Cross Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Alva Hembree and Novella Gladys Etter Tate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Gertrude Fults Tate; daughter, Deborah Tate Abraham; sister, Betty Jean Tate and brother, Powell Tate.

Mr. Tate is survived by children, Timothy Tate of McMinnville, Michael Tate of McMinnville, and Michelle (Kenneth) Owen of Morrison; grandchildren, Kayla Blair, Adam Owen, Alexandra Owen, Tabitha Holman, Corey Tate, Courtney Abraham and Japeth Tate; great-grandchildren, Devin Blair, Jayden Baker, Waylon McCormick, Abbey Moore and Miley Womack and brother, Robert Tate of Florida.

Per his wishes, Mr. Tate will be cremated. The family will receive visitors at a later date.
