William Farris Young

Nashville, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native William Farris Young, age 81, was born March 15, 1943 and died May 21, 2024 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness.

Retired owner of McMinnville Molding and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Classy Bernell and Beulah Daisy Certain Young. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Ruth Martin, Glenn Young, Jimmy Young and Morris Young.

Mr. Young was married October 7, 1962 to Brenda Brooks Young of Nashville who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Vickie Young (Thomas) Hopper of Nashville; sisters-in-law, Elsie Young of Rock Island, TN and Margaret Young and Georgia Young both of McMinnville; nephew, Jim Young of McMinnville; great-nephew, Jayden Young of McMinnville; best friend, Donnie Hedrix and brother-in-law, Franklin (Linda) Brooks.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024 in High's Chapel with Ray Weddington and Tony Lawrence to officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at High's.
