Mike Walker, Sr.

Baxter, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Mike Walker, Sr. age 60, was born January 16, 1963 and died April 27, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. A handyman, he was the son of the late Herbert Glen and Iris Nell Wanamaker Walker, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Anthony Wayne Walker. He was married to Jackie Walker of Baxter, TN. In addition to his spouse, Mr. Walker is survived by son, James Michael Walker, Jr. of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Claudia Marie Walker and Maeve Nell Walker; siblings, Herby (Jan) Walker of McMinnville, TN, Darlene "Cindy" Rice of Tullahoma, TN, Jerry D. (Ransley Ilario) Walker of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Brad (Toney Wanamaker) Walker of Smithville, TN and Mechelle Walker of Tullahoma, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2023 in High’s Chapel. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery in Grundy County, TN. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
